What time will you arrive at the venue?

I generally arrive 2 hours early depending on the required setup.

 

Where do you provide your DJ service?

Anywhere within 100 miles of Columbus, Ohio. For any location over 100 miles from Columbus, Ohio, $50 will be added to the quote. An additional $50 will be added for every 50 miles more than 100 miles.

 

Do you charge extra for bringing DJ lights or wireless microphones?

No.

 

What forms of payment do you accept?

Cash, check, Venmo, Cash app, Paypal or Zelle.

 

Do you require a down deposit?

No. If you want to pay in advance, go for it. I generally ask to at least be paid the day of your event. In rare circumstances, I will take payment up to a couple weeks after the event.

 

Do you require a contract?

No, but I have one typed and ready to go if you want that kind of assurance.

 

What are your DJ lights like?

The are are colorful array of lights with strobes that flash occassionally as well. Great for any event with dancing. If you have a more formal event with a photographer, sometimes they don't want the colors interfering with the picures, but I can shine them at the ceiling or on the dancefloor and they're still pretty awesome. Only time they're not worth bringing is if a guest has epilepsy, just in case. It's called a Chauvet GigBAR 2; you can see what it'd be like here.

 

How many speakers do you have?

I currently have 3, 12 inch speakers and a subwoofer. They are all QSC brand. I've yet to have a gig where I turn them up more than halfway. I've DJed several medium sized gigs with only one 12 inch speaker and it's been more than plenty... however, I do love bass, so I bring the subwoofer with me any time it's necessary.

 

Can I choose music for you to play?

Absolutely! Send me song lists, playlist links or screenshots, your favorite genres, etc... I will download the songs prior to your event and have them ready to go in a playlist. I also love finding and listening to new music. I believe that's best achieved through others sharing music with me.

I can also get a good idea of what songs you'll like that I already have and will build a playlist with those prior to you gig as well. I guarantee you'll be impressed with my ability to play to your taste of songs you love but forgot about as well as songs you've never heard before but greatly enjoy.  Lately, the majority of the music I download is from using Shazam or Soundhound because I'm constantly inspired by what I hear around me.

 

Will you meet up prior to the event?

I'd prefer not to have to schedule a time and place to meet in person. However, I wouldn't mind setting up a video chat on Facebook, Skype or Facetime... or a phone call if you don't need help choosing music to play. Since I no longer do weddings, song choice is not important on your end. And since I've never had a gig where my client was upset, nor where I was unprepared, I'd rather you simply put a tad bit of trust into my ability to entertain, my experience, and my proven track record from my reviews and past clients.

 

Can you set up the day before?

For an upscale, high pressure gig, I'd prefer to, if possible.

 

What types of events are your specialty?

I prefer parties. Anything where I can play dance music that I like to keep the energy of the crowd going. The more specific you are with your taste in genres, the less I will enjoy the gig and the more I will be limited to put my creative mind to good use. However, I don't mind keeping the music clean for the kids and those with sensitive ears, if needed.

 

Do you use “old school” vinyl turntables to DJ events?

No... lol.

 

Do you use party props?

I have a limbo set, just ask!

 

Do you offer additional services, such as photobooths?

No, but I know people if you're interested.

 

What kinds of music are included in your collection?

I have over 14,000 songs, updated weekly and appropriately sorted into my 200+ playlists. No genre is off limits. I have music for all ages and every kind of event, including holidays.

 

Do you offer any discounts?

If you are a friend (not a friend of a friend), and can prove it by sharing my phone number, I will knock off some of the price. If you arrange for me to stay the night and be able to have more fun, DM me, and we'll talk details.

 

What do you require from my event site?

I have a table, white and black table covers, computer stand, Dj Controller (Numark NV II), and all that jazz. All I will really need from you is a couple power outlets to pull from. Also, I don't require to be first in line to eat like other service providers sometimes do... I don't mind eating last, if there's food. Shelter is also necessary if there's rain in the forcast, but I have a tent, so we'll talk about it.

 

What is your cancellation policy?

I'm easy on this. If no contract is required, then no need to pay me. I do this for fun, not for a living. All it means for me is a free weekend to kick back!

 

How do you dress for an event?

I dress formal for formal events (blazer, dress shoes/pants, etc...) and casual (jeans and maybe a nice shirt) for casual events. I will not wear a tie. I'm easy on this though, just let me know the deal and I'll make it happen. This may change with time, as I'm looking into getting DJ branded attire.

 

How are emergencies handled?

I have backups for my backups. And since I don't stream, I don't have to worry about internet connection. I do pay for a mobile hotspot to be able to download requests I don't have from practically everywhere. For a real emergency, just let me know as soon as possible, and I'll cut the music and we'll make sure everyone gets the care they need for maximum safety at all times.

 

Will you bring an assistant?

If my brother Camden is available, sure. Unlike me, he's still interested in weddings. If I'm by myself though, I'd rather set up and pack up by myself, as it's usually much faster; I know how to do it, I've done it a million times, I know where things go, and I take too much pride in being a one man show and doing everything myself.

 

Do you take request from our guests?

Yes. I can play the song on my headphones before sharing on my speakers and can tell if it's going to be a hit or miss by reading the crowd and judging the song based on my taste and experience.

 

Do you accept a do not play list?

Preferably.

 

What is your cancellation policy?

I'm easy on this. Just let me know and no need to pay me since there's no deposits. I do this for fun, not for a living. All it means for me is a weekend free to kick back!
